On a frigid night, a CH-146 Griffon helicopter sits on the ice during Exercise Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) in our favourite photo of the week. The image was captured at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, on March 12.
Led by the U.S. Army in Alaska, JPMRC focuses on operations in cold weather. In addition, it strengthens lines of communication between Alaskan units and CAF units.
This year, JPMRC took place around the Donnelly Training area in Alaska between March 14-23. JPMRC is part of a larger endeavour of the CAF to hone their winter weather military skills in Alaska. A number of other exercises were also held here in conjunction with the U.S. military in February and March this year
