Canadian Armed Forces Recognizes Over 100 Personnel with Order of Military Merit

More than one hundred Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members went above and beyond the call of duty, distinguishing themselves and earning the Order of Military Merit.

The names of the CAF members were published in a military message.

Canada’s Highest Honours

The Order of Military Merit is one of Canada’s highest honours and was established in 1972 to recognize exceptional service by a member of the CAF.

The honour is presented to those military members who have demonstrated outstanding dedication, leadership, and service to Canada.

There are three levels to the Order: Commander, Officer, and Member.

Commander is the highest level and is awarded to those who have demonstrated outstanding merit over an extended period. This is typically awarded to senior officers.

Officer level is awarded to those individuals who have displayed distinguished service and exceptional dedication in their duties.

Member is awarded to CAF members of all ranks who have performed beyond the expected standard.
