Last night, I finally found my new favourite restaurant! I’m so happy. One of the toughest parts of moving is finding all of your new favourites again … and for me, favourite restaurants are key to my happiness. But then again, so are grocery stores, book stores, parks and walking trails …
So what are the best ways to find the best your new city has to offer?
- It’s always a good idea to stop by the MFRC … they will have an information pack filled with lots of local stuff. This is also a great place to ask for referrals, because the staff will have lived in the area for some time, and will be able to offer lots of advice.
- Go to the website for your city or town. You’ll find details on walking trails, pet licensing, parks, recreation, waste disposal and other civic information.
- Ask friends who have lived there before you … this is where Facebook comes in super-handy (especially before you’ve actually gotten there)! Just post the question … people love to offer advice!
- Do your online research. Site like TripAdvisor.ca are great for getting information on good restaurants. Google is your friend when you are new in town!
