Vice-Admiral Topshee Announces Navy Command and Senior Appointments amendments

VAdm. Angus Topshee, Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy, announced a number of Navy Command and Senior Appointments just before the turn of the year.

The appointments are an amendment to CANFORGEN 041/22.

“VAdm. Topshee Commander RCN congratulates all of you,” stated a CANFORGEN announcing the appointments.

New Appointments

According to CANFORGEN 177/22, LCdr. J. Knowles was previously appointed Commanding Officer of His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Kingston.

Additionally, the following officers are appointed Commanding Officers in the annual posting season 2022:

  • Cdr. C. Devita: HMCS Charlottetown
  • Cdr. P. Mountford: HMCS Montreal
  • LCdr. C. Heckman: HMCS Glace Bay MT 22

The following officers are appointed Executive Officers:

  • LCdr. J. Aitken: HMCS St. John MT 22
  • Lt. (N) C. Prescott: OIC Patrol Vessels West MT 22
  • Lt. (N) A. Beaver: HMCS Kingston APS 22
  • Lt. (N) J. Claymore: HMCS Brandon APS 22
  • LT. (N) P. Corbeil: HMCS Goose Bay MT 22
  • Lt. (N) C. Walsh: HMCS Edmonton APS 22
  • Lt. (N) J. Davidson-Arnott: HMCS Moncton APS 22

The following Chief Petty Officers were appointed to Navy Tactical Leadership Teams:

  • CPO1 D. Bisal: Fleet CPO Pacific APS 22
  • CPO1 A. Lee: Formation CPO Pacific APS 22

The following Chief Petty Officers were appointed to Navy Tactical Post United Leadership Teams:

  • CPO1 A. Ferguson: Sea Training Pacific Coxswain APS 22
  • CPO1 P. Parent: Director General Maritime Equipment Program Management CPO APS 22
  • CPO1 T. White: Director Naval Personnel CPO APS 22

The following Personnel were appointed as Ship Coxswains:

  • CPO1 D. Currie: HMCS Montreal APS 22
  • CPO1 C. Thompson: HMCS Harry Dewolf APS 22
  • CPO1 S. Tremblay: HMCS Charlottetown APS 22
  • PO1 L. Ireland: HMCS Yellowknife APS 22

Both sea and shore-based RCN units are required to attend the RCN command team course in advance of their appointments. In addition, all designates must also complete the CAF training requirements identified on the NPTG website .
