New Military Intelligence Command Chief Warrant Officer Announced

The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) hub for military intelligence welcomed its new Command Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) this spring.
According to a recent CANFORGEN, Commander of Canadian Forces Intelligence (CFINT) Command, Major General (MGen) D. Abboud, announced that CWO Philippe Cousineau will serve as the branch’s next Command CWO effective the 2025 annual posting season.
“To CWO Cousineau, congratulations on your upcoming appointment. I look forward to welcoming you to the command and working together as we further optimize, modernize, and grow defence intelligence with a view to consistently enable decision and operational advantage at all levels, across all domains, and in the information environment,” stated the CFINTCOM Commander in CANFORGEN 046/25.

CFINT
CFINTCOM is a formation of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) tasked with providing military intelligence vital to operations, decision making and national security. Based in Ottawa, ON, CFINTCOM is comprised of several key units, including the Canadian Forces Joint Imagery Centre, the Canadian Forces National Counter-Intelligence Unit, and the Canadian Forces School of Military Intelligence.
A number of candidates were interested in the position of Command Chief Warrant Officer, noted the CANFORGEN.

Almost 3 Decades of Service
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, CWO Cousineau has served in the CAF since 1996, when he joined the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves, where he served with the 51st Service Battalion in St-Hubert, QC, as a vehicle technician.
Over the next three decades, he served in a variety of positions, including Career Manager with Director Military Careers 4, as a Master Warrant Officer, Squadron Chief Warrant Officer at 8 Wing Trenton, and most recently at 17 Wing Winnipeg as Chief Warrant Officer.
