Return to Duty Program CAF participants can be entitled to monthly allowance

Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members participating in Return to Duty programs outside of their home unit can be entitled to a monthly allowance, according to clarification from a recent CAF memo.

According to CANFORGEN 133/23, “A member who participates in an RTD program outside of the home unit, including in a CAF Transition Centre, but is not posted or assigned and still meets the entitlement conditions of their monthly allowance shall remain entitled to the applicable allowance.”

The CANFORGEN was released to clarify the entitlement of monthly allowance for those officers and non-commissioned members posted or attach posted or assigned to a CAF Transition Centre.

For more information, the CANFORGEN suggests contacting the CAF personnel’s Orderly Room or the Administrative Response Centre email here.
