Public Service Health Care Plan Benefits Set to Change

Sun Life Canada will no longer be the provider of the Canadian government’s Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP).

From July 1, Canada Life Assurance Company, known as Canada Life, will become the administrator of PSHCP. The Department of National Defence (DND) assures all Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members that the change in administrators will have no impact on PSHCP benefits.

Beginning in March, members of the PSHCP plan will start receiving a positive enrolment invitation from Canada Life. To ensure receipt of this invitation, members must ensure that their personal contact information on the Sun Life Plan platform is up-to-date.

If a member has not received this invitation by April 24, 2023, they are welcome to complete a positive enrolment online here or by contacting Canada Life Call Centre at 1-855-415-4414.

In the meantime, all claims will continue to be submitted to Sun Life until June 30, 2023. Then, beginning July 1, 2023, claims must be submitted to Canada Life.
