Tickets On Sale Now for Stand Proud Concert

The Adam Gregory and Guests, Stand Proud PTSD Awareness Concert is happening at the Northern Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton on January 10, 2015. Tickets to the event make the perfect Christmas gift.

The goals of concert organizers are to raise awareness of the effects of PTSD while raising funds for PTSD support organizations including Can Praxis Equine and the War Horse Awareness Foundation. They expect tickets available through Ticket Master, costing $62.99 are going to sell quickly.

“The concert’s musical lineup is diverse and talented.  Adam Gregory is a country music singer, originally from Edmonton, based in Nashville.  Anca Boieru is an internationally renowned soprano, while Valentin Borsu is an international tenor. Rick Poltaruk with BluesWak are known for their rocking blues style,” said Rob Sanders, president, Stand Proud PTSD Awareness and Support Society.

The artists are performing for expenses. There are Jubilee Theatre facility costs, and advertising to pay for. Radio stations have donated airtime and other PTSD organizations are helping to spread the word, but organizers admit corporate sponsorship would make a real difference.

The concert is also about personal support and recovery. Sanders is a disabled military veteran diagnosed with PTSD in August of 2013. He lives and copes daily with the symptoms of his illness. Creating the Stand Proud PTSD Awareness and Support Society and fundraising for PTSD therapy support organizations are his way of giving back, and supporting his own treatment.

“Last December I almost took my own life. Then my family intervened and I got on a medication that works. This concert is about keeping someone else with PTSD from taking their life. I’ve been working on it since March of 2013,” said Sanders.

Stand Proud PTSD Awareness and Support Society is a registered not-for-profit society in Langdon, Alberta. The mission of the organization is to guide those who are struggling with PTSD and accompanying mental health conditions to various PTSD support organizations.

The Stand Proud Society is dedicated to fundraising activities in support of organizations providing PTSD related therapy and peer-to-peer support to the Canadian Military, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, K Division, Alberta’s First Responders and retired veterans from each of these fields.
