The Shepherd | Disney+

Based on Frederick Forsyth’s book of the same title, this British drama short takes place on Christmas Eve 1957. When a young flying officer is denied leave, he receives permission to fly home for Christmas. Over the North Sea, he encounters technical difficulties. The young officer finds a lone plane that assists him. Starring: Ben Radcliffe, Claire Price, Scarlet Grace and John Travolta.

The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse | Apple+

Debuting on BBC One on Christmas Eve in 2022, this feel-good animated short film, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse, follows a young boy lost in the winter wilderness. He befriends a mole, a fox, and a horse, and the group becomes friends. Together, they explore themes of humanity, empathy, and kindness. Starring: Tom Hollander, Idris Elba, Gabriel Byrne.
