The Galley

Pimm’s Cup

Military families move frequently, meeting new people and experiencing new regions and cultures. Along the way, we pick up new recipes and new traditions. Here is a refreshing summer cocktail popular in England perfect for sharing with a few friends. Adults only please as it contains strong alcohol.

Pimm’s Cup

1 large orange cut into half moons
1 cup of strawberries halved
1 3-inch piece of English cucumber washed and sliced
1 cup of Pimm’s No.1 ( a gin based alcohol with citrus and herbal notes)
2 cups Sprite or other lemon-lime soda
3 large sprigs of mint, crushed gently plus a few loose leaves

Fill a pitcher 1/4 full of ice. Layer in the fruit and cucumber. Pour in Pimms and Sprite. Stir with a long handled spoon. Poke mint sprigs and leaves down into the drink. Serve in tall glasses with a few fruit slices and cucumber in each along with mint.
