Under a clear blue sky, our favourite photo of the week, features the Royal Canadian Dragoons blazing their way into first place during the Canadian Army Trophy Tank Gunnery Competition. The competition took place during Operation REASSURANCE at Camp Adazi in Latvia on May 2, 2024.

The Canadian Army Trophy (CAT) is a decades-old NATO competition specifically aimed at showcasing the lethal of tanks and fine-tuning skills. The last CAT took place in Grafenwoehr, Germany in 1991.

This year’s competition aimed to become the premier NATO tank gunnery competition, revealing the best tank crew in NATO.

Of NATO’s eight multinational battlegroups in Europe, Canada leads the battlegroup in Latvia. Canada is joined by other nations, including Albania, Czechia, Iceland, Italy, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain.
