Moving to a shooting position, a Ukrainian recruit practices his military skills in our favourite photo of the week.

The recruit was practicing during a live fire range run by members of the 3rd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry.

The photograph was shot on Nov. 19, 2022, by Canadian Armed Forces Photo member Cpl. Eric Greico, during Operation UNIFIER-UK in the United Kingdom. Since August 2022, CAF soldiers have trained Ukrainian Forces recruits in the United Kingdom.

Approximately 170 CAF members have been to the UK on this operation.
