Our featured photo of the week captured His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Charlottetown proudly sailing in open waters during NATO’s Exercise STEADFAST DEFENDER 24.

The image, taken on March 1, shows HMCS Charlottetown sailing in the North Atlantic Ocean as part of the NATO Task Group.

Exercise STEADFAST DEFENDER 24 is NATO’s largest military exercise since the Cold War. It allows NATO partners to work in conjunction and sharpen wartime skills.

Over the course of three years, NATO planned and executed the Ex Steadfast Defender. The military exercise involved over 90,000 military personnel training across multiple domains from January 2024 to May 2024, marking it as NATO’s largest military exercise since the Cold War.

NATO’s exercise consisted of a series of military exercises conducted by NATO members. Steadfast Defender aimed to test and enhance the readiness and interoperability of NATO forces, ensuring they could respond rapidly and effectively to various threats.
