Soldiers in the Arts Explores Veterans’ Feelings Regarding the Fall of Afghanistan

The Taliban retaking Afghanistan shook people, including many soldiers, to their core. A new play, Tunnel at the End of the Light, attempts to delve into the complicated feelings many Afghanistan Veterans feel through dark humour.

Presented by Soldiers in the Arts, a non-profit aimed at supporting Canadian Veterans, Tunnel at the End of the Light will premier in May.

The play will uncover the journey these friends must take to find uncomfortable truths, all to drive a poignant point home to audiences.

“In this darkly funny and poignant new play by Jonathan Guy Lewis, he explores the very raw emotions that the veteran community are feeling after the sudden fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban. What was the point of it all? They thought they were there to make a difference for the long haul. But it turns out that was a lie. So… who betrayed who?” writes Soldiers in the Arts.

Proceeds from the play will go towards the Soldiers in the Arts program.
