Royal Canadian Air Force to conduct flybys on Canada Day

The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) will conduct flybys as part of several Canada Day celebrations across the province of Ontario on July 1, 2019.The flybys will be at various times throughout the day.

Canadians can view the flybys in the following communities:

  • Belleville
  • Brighton
  • Cornwall
  • Cobourg
  • Lancaster
  • Ottawa
  • Wellington

During the flyby demonstrations, the aircraft will fly at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle in their path.

CC-140 Griffons and CC-130J Hercules will showcase their skills across the province, while the Snowbirds and CF-Hornet Demo Jet will be in the nation’s capital.

RCAF flybys, requested by organizers of special events, are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure public safety at all times.

The RCAF is proud to share in national events, which allow us to demonstrate the capabilities of our personnel and aircraft to Canadians.

Aircraft participation is subject to weather and operational requirements.

Paige LeClair

As a recent graduate from the St. Thomas University Journalism program, Paige has a passion for storytelling and investigative journalism. In 2016, she, along with her journalism team were awarded first place at the Emerge Media Awards in the multimedia category. The team was also a finalist at the Canadian Association of Journalist Awards. She is excited to work with other military spouses providing stories and information to the military community. Paige is newly married to Andrew, a Lineman, and moved to their first posting in Petawawa in May of this year. She is excited to begin this journey with Andrew, their dog Diablo, and cat, Linux
