Chief of the Defence Staff announced further 2020 Colonel/Captain(N) promotions, appointments and retirements

The Chief of Defence Staff General Johnathan Vance announced further Colonel/Captain(N) promotions, appointments, and retirements that have occurred, or will occur, in 2020.

In the CANFORGEN released on July 15, 2020, he offered his deepest appreciation for the service and sacrifices of those officers and their families as they transition from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), and gave heartfelt congratulations to those assuming new appointments and new responsibilities.

Capt(N) S.A. Archer will be appointed Director Naval Information Warfare, in Ottawa, replacing Capt(N) A.W. Mackenzie.

Col C.Y.J. Bouchard will be appointed J5, Dcomd Norad, in Colorado Springs, replacing Col J.S.G. Lamarche, who retired.

Col R.P. Bourque will be appointed J3, Canadian Joint Operations Command (CJOC), in Ottawa, replacing Col J.D.S. Masson.

Col K.I. Cameron will be appointed Deputy Commander CAF Transition Group, in Ottawa, replacing Capt(N) M.L. Langlois, who will retire.

Col J.W. Cunningham will be appointed Director Air Staff Coordination, in Ottawa, replacing Col C.A. Mckenna.

Col L.Y. Dahl will proceed to the advanced training list to attend the Developmental Phase Four Programme, at Canadian Forces College, in Toronto.

Col acting while so employed B.D. Davidson will be promoted Substantive Col and remain as Project Manager, DGLEPM, in Ottawa.

Col K.A. Gallinger will be appointed Director Senior Appointments, in Ottawa, replacing Col A.L. Kilby.

Col R. Garon will be appointed Director Reserves and International Outreach, in Ottawa, replacing Col B. Kalogerakis.

Col J.A.D. Goulet will be appointed Special Advisor, Commander CJOC, in Ottawa, replacing Col Y. Michaud.

Capt(N) A.C. Hingston will be appointed Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of National Defence, in Ottawa, replacing Capt(N) S.A. Archer.

Col R.E. Jurkowski will be appointed Chief of Staff Operations and Support, at CDA HQ, in Kingston.

Col A.L. Kilby will be appointed deputy U3, United Nations Command Korea, in Pyeontaek, South Korea, replacing Col S.W. Taylor.

Capt(N) J.G.E. Landry will be appointed Deputy Commander Naval Reserve, in Quebec City, replacing Capt(N) J.A. Offer who retired.

Col J.E. Landry will be appointed commander 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, in Petawawa, replacing Col J.T. Adair.

Capt(N) A.W. Mackenzie will be appointed Director New Capability Integration, in Ottawa, replacing Capt(N) Y.J. Tremblay.

Col M.J.E. Mallette will proceed to the Advanced Training List to attend the Developmental Phase Four Programme, at Canadian Forces College, in Toronto.

Capt(N) D.E. Mazur will proceed to the Advanced Training List to attend the Developmental Phase Four Programme, at Canadian Forces College, in Toronto.

Col R.W. Mcbride will proceed to the Advanced Training List to attend the Developmental Phase Four Programme, at the United States Army War College, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Col Y. Michaud will be appointed Chief of Staff Director General Intelligence Policy and Partnership, in Ottawa, replacing Col J.D. Godefroy who will retire.

Capt(N) K.W.A. Monaghan will proceed to the Advanced Training List to attend the Developmental Phase Four Programme, at Canadian Forces College, in Toronto.

Col S.D. Murphy will be appointed Special Advisor To The Commander 1 Canadian Division, in Kingston.

Col C.L. Robidoux will be appointed Director Space Requirements, in Ottawa, replacing Col C.D. Stoltz who will retire.

Capt(N) Y.J. Tremblay will be appointed Canadian Defence Liaison Officer Homeland Defence Pacific Fleet, at Pearl Harbour, Hawaii, replacing Capt(N) S.W. Carter.

Capt(N) acting while so employed J.P.L. Tremblay will be promoted Substantive Capt(N) and will be appointed Director Naval Personnel and Training, in Ottawa, replacing Capt(N) P.L. Belhumeur.

Commander (Cdr) G.W. Adamthwaite will be promoted Capt(N) and appointed Director Transition Services And Policy, in Ottawa, replacing Col K.I. Cameron.

Lieutenant-Colonel (LCol) N.A.M. Babin will be promoted Col acting while so employed and appointed J5, CJOC, in Ottawa, replacing Col D.G. Adams.

Cdr S.W.P. Batte will be promoted Capt(N) and appointed Captain Naval Reserve Central Region, in London, ON, replacing Capt(N) T.E. O Leary.

LCol P.W.W. Bell will be promoted Col and appointed Regional Lo Ontario, in Ottawa, replacing Capt(N) M.P. Davies who will retire.

Cdr J.F. French will be promoted Capt(N) and appointed Deputy Commander Joint Task Force (North), in Yellowknife, replacing Capt(N) S.E.J. Belair.

Cdr S.M.J. Routledge will be promoted Capt(N) and appointed to a new position as Canadian Surface Combatant In-Service-Support, Assistant Deputy Minister (Materiel), in Ottawa.

LCol K.W. Rudderham will be promoted Col and appointed Assistant Chief of Staff (Support), 5 Canadian Division, in Halifax, replacing Col B.C.A. Brown.

LCol J.J.D. Smith will be promoted Col and appointed J1, CJOC, in Ottawa, replacing Col L.S.J. Cox.

LCol L.T. Smith will be promoted Col acting while so employed and appointed Special Advisor Security And Force Protection, at CJOC, in Ottawa, replacing Col R.L. Point.

Cdr R.D.M. Taylor will be promoted Capt(N) acting while so employed and appointed Captain Naval Reserve East Region, in Montreal, replacing Capt(N) J.G.E. Landry.

LCol D.K. Turenne will be promoted Col acting while so employed and appointed NORAD/Northcom J7 Deputy Director Joint Training and Exercises, in Colorado Springs, replacing Col J.A. Major.

Cdr J.L. Watkins will be promoted Capt(N) and appointed Director Naval Logistics, in Ottawa, replacing Capt(N) R.B. Creighton.
