Army Commander Announces CO and RSM Appointments

LGen. Jocelyn Paul, Commander of the Canadian Army, recently announced commanding officer (CO) and regimental sergeant major (RSM) appointments for the Canadian Army for the 2022 and 2023 annual posting season (APS).

“I am pleased to announce the following appointments for the Canadian Army Command,” stated LGen. Paul in a Canforgen as he congratulated the new appointees.

CO Appointments APS 2022

There was only one commanding officer appointment for APS 2022.

• LCol. J.Y. Simard was appointed 5 SVC BN commanding officer starting Dec. 2022.

RSM Appointments APS 2022

The following are the RSM appointments for APS 2022:

• CWO M.J. Crichton was appointed RSM at 5 Canadian Division TC in July 2022
• CWO D.G. Waller was appointed CWO at 5 CSDB PERS SVCS in Sept. 2022

All new commanding officers and RSM are required to take the mandatory unit command team course taking place from Feb. 6-16 at CACS Kingston. Any exceptions must be approved by DCOMD CA through CA talent management directorate.
