Valcartier Job Fair to be held on April 6th

The Valcartier Family Resource  Centre will be hosting its annual job fair, featuring close to 30 employers, on Thursday April 6.

Every year since 2012, the Valcartier Family Centre, in partnership with Centre Local De Développement de la Jacques Cartier, Emploi-Quebec, and Société d’aide au dévelopement de la collectivité de Portneuf (SADC Portneuf), attracts upwards of 350 community members.

“With the goal of matching job searchers with employers recruiting  in MRC Jacques-Cartier, the borough of Haute St-Charles, and surrounding areas.” said Geneviève Godin, Employment Coordinator Valcartier Family Centre.

Nearly 50 per cent of people attending the fair belong to the military community, including spouses, veterans, reservists and military children.

This year’s fair will feature close to 30 employers and more than 300 job postings in fields like tourism, administration, customer service, transport, manual jobs, health and more.

The fair seeks to encourage networking between employers and job seekers while introducing clientele to businesses recruiting in the region.

“Why attend the Job Fair? To network, to have the opportunity to meet with company representatives, to practice their ability to quickly build rapport with employers,” stated Godin.

The Valcartier Job Fair will be held Thursday April 6 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Valcartier Family Centre.
