Baked Beans

Baked Beans

Soak one cup of red kidney beans (or navy beans) overnight or 6 – 8 hours

(you may also use 3 cups of canned beans, however soaking your own is a healthier option)

Boil beans at medium heat for one hour

Reduce heat, cover and simmer for one more hour

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.

Place beans in a casserole dish


½ cup chopped onion

1/3 cup pure maple syrup

¼ cup molasses

1 tsp ground mustard

1 tsp each salt and pepper (or to taste)

Bake, covered, for 3 hours.
