Snowbird plane crashes in Kamloops
Today, while on their cross country Operation Inspiration a Canadian Forces Snowbird crashed into a home in West Kamloops.
The Snowbirds were on their way to Comox, B.C., postponing their flyby to the Okanagan as weather conditions were not hospitable for a flyover.
A CT-114 Tutor crashed into a home in the Brocklehurst area of Kamloops.
In a statement from the Canadian Armed Forces, “A Canadian Forces Snowbirds aircraft has crashed in the vicinity of Kamloops, British Columbia.
This is a developing situation. Our number one priority at this time is determining the status of our personnel, the community, and supporting emergency personnel. When appropriate, more information will be made available.
We are thankful for the ongoing support of emergency crews, including the Kamloops Airport’s aircraft rescue fleet, who are responding to the incident.”

This is the second air crash in less than a month. Last month as CH-148 Cyclone carrying six CAF personnel crashed over the Ionia Sea. All personnel lost their lives.

At 7:30p.m. EST the CF Snowbirds released a statement that there had been a fatality, with one person passing away and one person seriously injured.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that one member of the CF Snowbirds team has died and one has sustained serious injuries. We can confirm that we have contacted all primary family members of those involved. More information will be communicated in the near future.
