Attention Ottawa area entrepreneurs: holiday retail space up for grabs

Veteran business owners and military spouse business owners in the Ottawa area seeking mall space for the Christmas season may be interested in Carlingwood Mall’s Mind Your OWN Business event.

The event sees local entrepreneurs apply to win retail space during the holiday season for November and December 2019.

“Some of our best tenants are independent retailers we took a chance on,” stated marketing director Nathalie Lavergne in a press release. “The opportunity to help a local business succeed in the retail market is something we are incredibly passionate about.”

Businesses are already preparing for holiday sales, and having free retail space is an ideal opportunity to showcase their products and connect with new customers noted the release.

“We are officially on the hunt for new and exciting start-ups who want to test the waters at Carlingwood Shopping Centre,” added Lavergne.

Applicants must have a business license, liability insurance, a clear business vision, and inventory to sell.

The top winners will receive a cart rental located in a high traffic area, custom signage, and advertising support.

For more than 63 years, Carlingwood Shopping Centre has been a proud supporter of helping support local talent.

Carlingwood Shopping Centre is located at 2121 Carling Avenue in Ottawa’s west-end. The fully enclosed one level shopping centre is home to more than 100 stores and services.

For more information on the program and how to apply, Carlingwood Shopping Centre is urging businesses to visit their website. Deadline for applications is coming soon.
