Apps to keep you feeling festive!

The holidays are approaching and stress levels are rising. With the hustle and bustle of the season, we sometimes lose sight of the fun. Kids are excited for Santa, and you’re still trying to find the perfect gift for a loved one or planning the annual party. To keep the stress at bay, and to keep you and your kids in the festive spirit, here are some apps available for iOS and Android to help.

Christmas Radio

This app is ready for every holiday occasion. Hosting a party or having a sing-a-long? The Christmas Radio app has 38 different radio stations ranging from country Christmas to jazzy Christmas. There is a station for everyone in the family available for your festive activities. (Free for both iOS and Android devices)

 

Santa’s Christmas Village

This app is great to keep your kids busy and to have fun. Help Santa fly his sleigh collecting presents! But make sure you avoid the goblins trying to steal them from him. This fun, interactive game is great for all ages. (Free for Android devices, with in-app purchases available. Not available on iOS)

This great organizing and budgeting app makes sure you stay on track for all your holiday purchases. Keep a list of who you are buying for and their individual budgets. NORAD Santa Tracker 

This fun app will have your kids counting down the days until Santa visits your house. The NORAD Santa Tracker offers a countdown to Santa’s journey around the world, stories, games, and music. Interactive Stories: How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Make storytime more fun this holiday season with this app. This app encourages literacy skills, is interactive with touch screen steps and offers  professional narration and sound effects. Video Santa

Want to make sure the Christmas magic is still in the air? Afraid your older kids are losing their belief in Santa Claus? This app allows you to fill in your child’s information (age, name, favourite colour) and input ways that they can get on the nice list (being kind to siblings, brushing teeth, etc.). When placing the call to Santa, he will use the information in the FaceTime or phone call to your child. (Free for iOS and Android devices, with in-app purchases available)

Michelle Levesque

Fate brought Michelle Levesque to the CMFMAG family and she considers herself lucky be part of the journey of watching the Magazine bloom into greatness. Her motivation comes from working with a strong group of military spouses who are dedicated to providing information about those who support the Canadian military family community. Michelle believes in Cyndi’s mission first and for most and prides herself on being Cyndi’s and the magazine’s champion. “No” is not an option in Michelle’s world. When Cyndi describes the magazine as her “5th child”, Michelle describes herself as “Cyndi’s 5th child’s Nanny”. Michelle is married to Bob, a Combat Engineer Veteran and has 3 grown children, 2 boxers, and 5 cats. With only 1 year in Lahr Germany and 4 years in Oromocto NB, the Levesque’s called Petawawa home. (19 years out of 25 years together.) Now settled in Embrun ON, Michelle works where there is an internet connection. With her infectious enthusiasm, sense of humour and sheer determination to succeed, Michelle excitedly awaits where the CMFMAG goes next!
