Whiskey BBQ Sauce

This is my absolute favourite BBQ sauce!!  When we are going to go camping I will make a batch.  At the beginning of summer, I’ll make a batch for the upcoming BBQ season. You can keep this BBQ sauce stored in your fridge for 4-6 months.

This versatile BBQ sauce will have you feeling like you’re the king of your grill!!  Use it on chicken, pork, ribs, burgers, or to dunk your steak chunks into. Coconut sugar adds a flair of healthy in a sauce that’s not usually considered healthy.

Whiskey adds an extra dimension to this BBQ sauce with its amazing flavour and ability to cut through the other ingredients to give you a taste that will have you making this sauce on the regular ☺



  • 1 Cup Chopped Onions
  • 3 Cloves Garlic
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • ½ Cup Whiskey
  • 2 Cups Ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 1/3 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp Liquid Smoke
  • ¼ Cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ Cup Coconut Sugar
  • Salt and Pepper



  1. In a medium saucepan saute onions until translucent,
  2. Add garlic, cook for another 2-3 minutes,
  3. Add whiskey and reduce by half,
  4. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 hour
  5. Taste, season, taste
  6. Keep in fridge for 8 hours prior to use
  7. Serve, Eat Well, and Be Happy
