Nine members of the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment involved in LAV accident

Nine members of the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment were released from medical facilities Wednesday afternoon after a training accident in the Gagetown Range and Training Area.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday the nine members were injured when a Light Armoured Vehicle 6.0 hit an embankment while doing routine training.

Five of the members were taken to 42 health services for minor injuries while four were transported to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB for serious injuries.

An investigation is currently ongoing to determine the cause of the incident. No information has been released at the time as to the identity of the soldiers.
