June is Recreation Month

Physical activity plays a vital role in the health and well-being of Canadian families. Active people tend to be more productive and are most likely to avoid illnesses associated with an inactive lifestyle.

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) recognizes this, so along with the Personnel Support Programs (PSP) Recreation Program, they are dedicated to creating healthy and active military communities.

In celebration of Recreation Month, the London PSP will be hosting a Skills Challenge on June 20, 2018. They are encouraging as many CAF members as possible to come out and try their hand at basketball 3-point shooting and ball hockey accuracy shooting. There are challenge and door prizes to be won as well. To register for the competition, you can find the registration form here. hNorth Bay PSP have been posting Recreation Activity of the Day challenges on their Facebook page. Passports to keep track of daily activities have been made available at the Fitness and Wellness Centre in North Bay. On June 16, they will also be hosting a Tarzan rope challenge.
For a list of other Recreation Month activities in North Bay, you can visit their website here.

Throughout the month, the PSPs will be hosting a number of different activities to get CAF members and their families out and about for some recreational activity. For a calendar of events going on throughout Recreation Month, visit their website here.
