“What is the International Day of Happiness? It’s a day to be happy, of course! Since 2013, the United Nations has celebrated the International Day of Happiness as a way to recognize the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world,” states the UN website.
Concrete measures to ensure the world is a happier place are taken in the form of 17 Sustainable Development Goals that are aimed at reducing poverty, reducing inequality and protecting the planet.
Celebrations are held around the world to mark this day.
