Veteran’s National Employment Strategy Survey Seeking Participants

To shape and inform the government’s ambitious and overarching Veterans’ Employment Strategy, the government of Canada is currently inviting Veterans to take a survey and share their thoughts.

The National Veterans Employment Strategy survey will be a critical step in creating an employment strategy for Veterans. And according to the government, the data collected will be used to identify barriers while supporting Veterans in their search for meaningful work.

“A summary of what we’ve heard will be posted, and the information will shape and inform the development of the National Veterans Employment Strategy,” said Cindy Tessier, Senior Operations Manager at Veterans Affairs Canada, post on LinkedIn.

The National Veterans Employment Strategy

According to the Government’s Let’s Talk Veterans website, “The Veterans Employment Strategy will be a comprehensive strategy aimed at improving employment opportunities in Canada for Veterans, simplifying the process of obtaining civilian certifications and sharing the resources that Veterans Affairs Canada provides.”

The aim is for the strategy to launch in 2023 following the consultations.

About the Survey

The survey has been open for some time now and has received more than 800 responses.

“We’ve received more than 800 responses – would really love to break 1,000,” stated Tessier.

According to her post, 72 per cent of the feedback for the survey has been from Veterans with service in the Canadian Armed Forces.

“The feedback thus far has been tremendously insightful,” continued Tessier’s post.

The survey topics touch on the kinds of employment a Veteran may be looking for and the difficulties they face in acquiring that employment.

The survey is anonymous, and anyone can participate until Oct. 31. To take in the survey, click here.
