Edmonton Salutes Committee hosts Charity Golf Tournament

On Monday, August 19, 2019, the Edmonton Charity Golf Tournament will be taking place. The event will be starting at 9 am with a shotgun start. The Tournament is being presented and sponsored by the Edmonton Salutes Committee, and it will be in support of the Edmonton Garrison Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC).

“We still have space for golfers, and we will happily have them come, so give us a call or visit our website to find out more details.” Angela Duckworth

All money raised at the golf tournament will go towards the programs and services delivered by the Edmonton Garrison MFRC. Angela Duckworth, senior communications coordinator at the Edmonton Garrison MFRC, comments that the funds will be used for “things like personal development, mental health, and wellness, deployments, support, children and youth programming, parenting support, those kinds of program areas.”

The day will include not only the golf tournament but also a meal at the Golf Club after. The cost of the ticket will include a power golf cart rental, and there will be door prizes as well. As the tournament is a fundraiser for the MFRC, organizers are looking into having local businesses and community organizations come and golf, and potentially sponsor some of the holes, as well. “Hopefully it will be really enjoyable day,” said Duckworth.

The tournament will be taking place at the Edmonton Garrison Memorial Golf & Curling Club.
