Meet Andrew Murphy: A Veteran with a mission to deliver Gold Standard to Clients

Veteran turned real estate agent, Andrew Murphy served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 10 years, spending the majority of his career stationed in Petawawa. Aged 22, Andrew purchased his first home after his tour to Afghanistan, and that was where his interest in real estate first began.

“When I returned home from tour, I purchased my first home instead of a new car. Everyone else was buying new cars, and I was one of only a few that bought a property. It was definitely a great investment,” he explained. “[After] coming from the GTA, seeing what the real estate market in Ottawa Valley offered in comparison was a no brainer for me to purchase while I was posted in Petawawa.”

CAF Life to Civilian Life

During his release from CAF and transition to civilian life, Andrew began studying to begin his career in real estate. After successful completion and licensing, he chose to join the ranks of CENTURY 21 Explorer Realty Inc, working from Ottawa’s trendy west-end neighbourhood,  Westboro, as well as Carleton Place and Arnprior locations. Andrew works out of those locations as a way to provide his clients with better service.

“Some clients are city people while others are country folk – my locations allow me to cater to their individual needs,” he explained. Both he and his fiancée, who works at Carling Campus, recently purchased a new home and are relocating to Carleton Place in the Spring.

Andrew is a registered Third-Party Service Provider through BRGS, understanding the importance of the military community, especially during Active Posting Season. He primarily works within the golden triangle, helping military moves and relocations between Ottawa, Petawawa, and Kingston, and everywhere in between.

Customized Marketing Plan

If you are considering selling your home, Andrew will create a customized marketing plan that works for you. A professional photographer will take pictures of your home, promoting them through social media and print media.

The plan will involve open home viewings to create a neighbourhood buzz, as well as marketing your property online through REALTOR.ca and Andrew’s own website. This strategy will ensure that the broadest possible market is reached, both locally and abroad.

“A proper marketing plan and a home priced according to the market can help secure the best offer. We want to sell your home before it becomes idle and stale while closing the best deal that benefits your needs,” shared Andrew.

Golden Triangle Area

For those looking to purchase property, Andrew wishes his clients to know that the Ottawa market is very competitive right now. He said, “Even if you don’t have a posting message, reach out and call, text or send me an email, We can discuss different neighbourhoods and plan ahead for your upcoming house-hunting trip.”

Preparing in advance will help educate you on different neighbourhoods in Ottawa, around the National Capital Region, Carleton Place & Arnprior. Andrew will help you uncover what you may not have considered, whether it is schools, a certain lifestyle, or the local amenities. With his strong knowledge of the real estate market and negotiation skills, you can rest assured that you are in veteran hands.

Supporting Fellow Veterans

As a firm believer in supporting the veteran community, Andrew is planning to host various charity events over the course of the year to raise awareness for veterans’ programs and foundations.

If you would like to get involved or inquire about upcoming events, Andrew encourages you to connect.

“We support each other while in uniform and have built a unique bond through hardship and adversity. We tend to forget about that once we’ve released,” he explained.
