Today the family of the late Craftsman Kyle Sinclair issued a statement to the media. Craftsman Sinclair of 2 Service Battalion, based in Garrison Petawawa died on November 21, 2014 of injuries resulting from an incident November 20, at Garrison Petawawa.
Kyle Sinclair grew up in Whitby, Ontario. He graduated from Fleming College in 2009 with a Diploma in Building Techniques.
According to his family, from the age of 16, Sinclair was engaged in learning all aspects of the contracting trade and particularly enjoyed the creativity of the profession. He was a perfectionist with a meticulous nature, a sure sign a career with the Canadian Armed Forces would be his calling.
Craftsman Sinclair enrolled in the Army as a Vehicle Technician on December 6, 2012. His family accede he was extremely proud to be a serving member of the military.
When he was not working on vehicles or some form of renovation, Sinclair spent quality time with his family and friends. He was delighted to be chosen by his best friend Marc Fournier, to be the godfather to both of Fournier’s children, Shianne and Carter. The bond they shared was incredibly special.
Craftsman Sinclair is survived by his father, Guy Sinclair, his mother, Anna Loveman, his stepmother Kirsty Sinclair, his stepfather John Loveman, and his siblings, Evan, Roslin and Graeme. He will also be missed by his nephew, Jaxon Sinclair.
There will be a Celebration of Life Ceremony at Garrison Petawawa on November 26, 2014, with his military brothers and sisters, and his closest family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Mount Lawn Funeral Home in Whitby, Ontario, November 29, 2014. Visitation will start at 1 p.m. and the service will begin at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
At the time of the incident Sinclair, a vehicle technician, was posted to 2 Service Battalion. The 27 year old was on his 24 month on-the-job training rotation with the Royal Canadian Dragoons, part of 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group.
