Invisible Ribbon Gala 2015

The 11th Annual Invisible Ribbon Gala, hosted by the Trenton Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC), will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the National Air Force Museum of Canada in Quinte West.

The gala is an elegant evening featuring appetizers, a gourmet dinner paired with local wines, silent and live auctions, a guest speaker and live entertainment. The theme of the 2015 event is Families First.

“The gala provides an exceptional opportunity to bring together members of Quinte and surrounding area’s business communities with military leaders.  Local businesses are provided with some insight into military life and are able to show their support for the military community,” said Devon Taylor, communication and development coordinator, Trenton Military Family Resource Centre.

The Invisible Ribbon Campaign and gala raise awareness of military families, as they support the Canadian Armed Forces while wearing an ‘invisible uniform’.

All proceeds from the event are dedicated to support programs and services offered by the Trenton MFRC.  The Trenton MFRC is a critical partner in providing a vast array of readily available professional resources that assist and enhance the lives of military members and their families.

“Last year, over 250 guests attended the gala, and more than $67,000 was raised.  This year, we will have two special guests. Jane Foster, one of the first female CF-18 fighter pilots. She will speak about her life in the military, juggling work and motherhood and the importance of the role MFRC’s play in the lives of military families,” said Taylor.

The second special guest is T.W. Crossen, who co-wrote and produced a song for the Invisible Ribbon Gala, and will play it for an audience for the first time at the gala.

Members of the public are invited to show their support for the 8 Wing Trenton military community by donating an item to the Invisible Ribbon Gala auction, sponsoring the event, or attending the dinner.

New for 2015 is an on-line auction that will take place during and after the dinner, extending the reach of the fundraiser beyond the guests attending.

Tickets to the event are $100 per person or $1000 for a VIP table package. Dress for the event is civilian black tie and military mess kit optional.
