First Canadian Veteran Business Directory now available online

Prince’s Operation Entrepreneur (POE) has launched the first Canadian Veteran Business Directory, an online compilation of veteran’s owned businesses to help Canadians identify and locate said businesses and better support the men and women who have served our country.

“POE exists to help transitioning military and veterans launch and run successful businesses, so we came up with the idea of having a place where we could promote all of our alumni businesses. Just like the buy local movement encourages Canadians to support businesses in their regions, we thought we could create interest in buying from veterans and their families,” said Janet McCausland, Director, Prince’s Operation Entrepreneur.

The directory is also meant to facilitate networking and mutual support among veteran business owners. It goes in line with POE’s efforts to educate and render accessible tools and resources to veterans interested in launching their own business once they retire from their military career.

“We have so many success stories of veterans who are thriving and contributing to the community. This directory provides an opportunity for Canadians to see this success and support our veterans in a way that hasn’t been possible before,” added McCausland.

Prince’s Operation Entrepreneur will promote its directory and the businesses it contains through social media and profiles on its website. Businesses can be added to the directory by simply filling a form, accessible online on the “Veteran Login” section of POE’s website.

POE offers one-day “Introduction to Entrepreneurship” workshops across Canada, seven-day boot camps as well as short-term business coaching, monthly webinars, and online resources to veterans interested in starting their own business.
