Calgary Stampede honours CAF and first responders

The world-renowned annual Calgary Stampede, will be honouring members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and first responders on Monday, July 10 as part of Homegrown Heroes Night.

“We want to honour, celebrate and give back to those who give so much to our community. This special night is meant to bring together our local heroes with their families, friends and the community, to thank them for all that they do,” said David Sibbald, president and chairman of the board at the Calgary Stampede.

Along with CAF members, the Calgary Stampede is also inviting fire fighters, police officers, RCMP, EMTs, and CEMA. Monday’s Evening Show will be especially tailored to recognize the contributions of these Canadian heroes.

“The evening is all about community spirit and letting our local heroes know that the community supports them,” added Sibbald.

As an iconic rodeo, the Calgary Stampede embodies the people, animals, land, and traditions particular to the west.
