Voluntary Occupational for Trained Officers to Transfer to Non-Commissioned Occupations

The Chief of Military Personnel (CMP) is currently trialing a program that allows trained officers to relinquish their ranks to non-commissioned member (NCM) occupations.

“CMP is currently modifying existing policies supporting military occupation transfers and is in the interim trialing a temporary process that will inform an evidence-based administrative procure for trained officers to voluntary occupational transfer to non-commissioned member occupations,” stated a CANFORGEN released on the subject.

According to CANFORGEN 170/22, all interested and eligible officers are encouraged to apply through the annual Voluntary Transfer Program. Applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

If you are interested, you must submit documents to local Personnel Selection Office; a memo requesting resignation of commission, supported by their Chain of Command; DND 4495, application for in-service selection programme; and current MPRR.

Interested members can contact CMP Administrative Response Centre (ARC) at CMPARC.CRACPM AT FORCES.GC.CA (Plus CMP ARC CRA CPM at CMP DGMP at Ottawa Hull) or by calling 1-833-445-1182.
