Chief of the Defence Staff announces key CPO 1 and CWO positions

Gen. Wayne Eyre, Chief of the Defence Staff, announced key positions of Chief Petty Officers 1st Class and Chief Warrant Officers this month.

“It is my privilege to announce the following chief petty officer 1st class (CPO 1)/Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) senior appointments and key positions that have taken place or will occur in 2022. I offer my heartfelt congratulations and sincerest best wishes to those taking on new appointments and new responsibilities,” stated the CDS in a CANFORGEN released in July.

The following CPO 1 and CWO are appointed to a Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) in 2022:

  • CWO L.J. Dunn will be appointed Canadian Forces Intelligence Command Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa, replacing CWO N.E. Belanger.
  • CPO 1 T.A. Lizotte will be appointed Royal Canadian Navy Command Chief Petty Officer in Ottawa, replacing CPO 1 D.H. Steeves.
  • CWO K.J. Mathers was appointed Supreme Allied Command in Europe Command Chief Warrant Officers in Mons, Belgium.
  • CWO J.C. Robin was appointed Vice Chief of the Defence Staff Command Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa, replacing CWO J.B.M. Colbert.

The following CPO 1 and CWO are appointed to Post Tactical Leadership Team (PTLT) in 2022:

  • CPO F.T. Beazley will be appointed Canadian Forces Base Halifax Chief Petty Officer in Halifax, replacing CPO 1 B.A. Mondelli.
  • CWO J.M.C. Bedard was appointed Canadian Forces Health Services Group Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa, replacing CPO 1 L. Simpson.
  • CWO J.P.C. Belisle will be appointed Chief Instructor Osside Profession of Arms Institute in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, replacing CWO D.R. Thibodeau.
  • CWO M.H. Coit will be appointed 31 Canadian Brigade Group Sergeant Major in London, replacing CWO M.S. Delarosbil.
  • CWO J.S.J. Cote will be appointed Joint Task Force Iraq Chief Warrant Officer in Kuwait, replacing CWO J.D.G. Martin.
  • CWO P. Cousineau will be appointed 17 Wing Winnipeg Wing Chief Warrant Officer in Winnipeg, replacing CWO C. Faucher.
  • CWO D.J. Crawford was appointed 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group sergeant major in Petawawa, replacing CWO J.G. Leamon.
  • CWO C.D. Desaulniers will be appointed 1 Wing Kingston Wing Chief Warrant Officer in Kingston, replacing CWO L. White.
  • CWO J.F.P. Fleury was appointed Director General Military Personnel Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa, replacing CWO J.M.C. Bedard.
  • CWO M.A.N. Fortin will be appointed Director General Morale and Welfare Services Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa, replacing CWO J.J.M. Cote.
  • CWO J.P. Gagne was appointed 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group Sergeant Major in Valcartier, replacing CWO F.J. Morneau.
  • CWO M.P.C. Girouard will be appointed the Royal Canadian AirForce Succession Planner Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa, replacing CWO E.G.J. Poitras.
  • CPO 1 D.T. Godin will be appointed Director General Naval Strategic Readiness Chief Petty Officer in Ottawa, replacing CPO 1 F.T. Beazley.
  • CPO 1 P.G. Harel will be appointed Director General Military Careers and Director Senior Appointments Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa, replacing CWO D.J.P.L. Pignatel.
  • CWO C.L. Harris will be appointed Director General Culture Change Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa.
  • CWO R.J. Hansen will be appointed 8 Wing Trenton Wing Chief Warrant Officer in Trenton, replacing CWO J.J.P.D. Baulne.
  • CWO A.J. Hostler will be appointed 36 Canadian Brigade Group Sergeant Major in Halifax, replacing CWO E.P. Smith.
  • CWO W.L. King will be appointed Task Force El Gorah MFO Chief Warrant Officer, Operation CALUMET, replacing CWO J.R.D. Lapointe.
  • CWO S. Lamothe will be appointed Canadian Forces College Chief Warrant Officer in Toronto, replacing CPO 1 D.E. Campbell.
  • CWO J.R.D. Lapointe will be appointed Op REASSURANCE Command Senior Enlisted Leader Chief Warrant Officer in Poland, replacing CWO M.C.B. Hamilton.
  • CWO J.G. Leamon will be appointed 4th Canadian Division Sergeant Major in Toronto, replacing CWO J.C. Robin.
  • CWO J.D.G. Martin will be appointed Command Sergeant Major in Izmir, Turkey, replacing CWO K.J. Mathers.
  • CWO G.J. McLean will be appointed Canadian Defence Academy Headquarters Chief Warrant Officer in Kingston, replacing CPO 1. J.M. Dionne.
  • CPO 1 B.A. Mondelli will be appointed Formation Chief Petty Officer-Atlantic in Halifax, replacing CPO 1 T.A. Lizotte.
  • CWO J.A.G.R. Philibert will be appointed 7 Communication Group Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa, replacing CWO M.D. Harris.
  • CWO J.G. Pickard will be appointed Canadian Forces Support Group (Ottawa-Gatineau) Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa, replacing CWO J.C.E. Drouin.
  • CWO D.J.P.L. Pignatel will be appointed 22 Wing North Bay Chief Warrant Officer in North Bay, replacing CWO D.L. Martens.
  • CPO 1 S.J. Ryan will be appointed Command Sergeant Major at Joint Force Command Headquarters in Brunsum, Netherlands, replacing CWO L.J. Dunn.
  • CWO A. R. Sargent will be appointed the Royal Canadian Air Force Aerospace Warfare Centre Chief Warrant Officer in Trenton, replacing CWO K.S. Turriff.
  • CPO 1 C.T. Shebib will be appointed Fleet Chief Petty Officer-Atlantic, in Halifax, replacing CPO 1 J.P. Haas.
  • CWO S.M. Stamp will be appointed 41 Canadian Brigade Group Sergeant Major in Calgary, replacing CWO R.S. Doyle.
  • CWO J.C.G.C. Thomassin will be appointed National Military Representative Shape Headquarters Chief Warrant Officer in Casteau, Belgium, replacing CWO R.R. Viel.
  • CWO K.A. Wezenbeek will be appointed 12 Wing Shearwater Wing Chief Warrant Officer in Shearwater, replacing CWO B. Poirier.
  • CWO F.G. White will be appointed 9 Wing Gander Wing Chief Warrant Officer in Gander, replacing CWO E.Q. Barney.

  • CPO 1 A.L. Aubry will be appointed Director of the Intermediate Leadership Program for the Onside Institute in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, replacing CPO 1 C.T. Shebib.
  • CPO 1 J.F. Bouillon will be appointed Director Culture Change and Performance Management Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa.
  • CPO 1 M.D. Cashin will be appointed Director General Maritime Equipment Program Management Chief Petty Officer in Ottawa, replacing CPO 1 M.A. Quillan.

  • CPO 1 L.M. Laurendeau will be appointed Director General Engagement Policy and Research Chief Petty Officer in Ottawa.
  • CWO J.E. Lebel will be appointed Director General Materiel Systems and Supply Chain Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa, replacing CWO D.E. Milligan.
  • CWO P.B. MacDonald will be appointed Air Operations Branch Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa, replacing CWO R.J. Reisch.
  • CPO 1 J.T. Mahoney will be appointed Personnel Coordination Centre-Atlantic Chief Petty Officer in Halifax, replacing CPO 1 W.K. Whitlock.
  • CPO 1 P.M. Mackey will be appointed Sea Training Atlantic Coxswain in Halifax, replacing CPO 1 J.T. Mahoney.
  • CWO D.B. Mistry will be appointed Air Environment Chief Warrant Officer Career Manager in Ottawa, replacing CWO M.P.C. Girouard.
  • CPO 1 M.I. Scalabrini will be appointed Chief of Staff Material Division Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa, replacing CPO 1 M.D. Cashin.
