Cream Cheese Frosting

Cream Cheese frosting is a fabulous frosting for carrot cake, cinnamon buns, cupcakes, red velvet cake, and the list goes on! Smooth, creamy with a hint of vanilla – you can’t go wrong with cream cheese frosting!

This recipe makes enough frosting to frost a rectangle cake or layer cakes. To both frost and fill layered cakes, double the recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8  oz full-fat cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 cups (approx) icing sugar

Instructions

  1. Cream together cream cheese, butter, and vanilla.
  2. Gradually beat in icing sugar.
  3. You want the frosting to have a smooth, spreadable consistency.
