Amoured Vehicle move to take place this week

Approximately 60 armoured and support vehicles will be transported from Garrison Petawawa to the Prescott Rail Yards between March 9 to March 11 to prepare for Exercise MAPLE RESOLVE 2022.

2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group will be moving these military vehicles to the Prescott Rail Yards so that they can be transported to Wainwright, AB for the exercise, according to a Public Service Announcement sent out by the Garrison.

“Convoys will be moving in packets of approximately 10 vehicles. At times these convoys can be slow-moving and cause distractions to other drivers and onlookers. Drivers and pedestrians who encounter the vehicles are asked to be patient,” stated the PSA.

Exercise MAPLE RESOLVE is the Canadian Army’s largest annual training exercise. It involves over 2,000 Canadian Armed Forces Personnel and is designed to prepare military members to deploy in any capacity, including combat operations.

Last year, the exercise returned after a one-year hiatus due to COVID-19.
