Acting Chief of the Defence Staff announces Colonel/Capt(N) promotions, appointments & retirements

The Acting Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant-General (LGen) Wayne Eyre, announced the Colonel (Col)/ Captain (Capt(N) promotions, appointments, and retirements that have or will occur in 2021.

“I wish to offer my deepest appreciation for the service and sacrifices of those officers and their families as they transition from the CAF (Canadian Armed Forces), and I offer my heartfelt congratulations and sincerest best wishes to those assuming new appointments and new responsibilities,” Eyre stated.

There are 21 colonels retiring this year, along with two captains(N).

Promotions and appointments are as follows:

Col J.T. Adair will be appointed Director of Programmes, at Canadian Forces College, in Toronto, replacing Col B.J. Honig.

LCol J.P.A. Veilleux will be promoted Col and appointed Canadian Defence Attache Mexico, in Mexico City, replacing Col J.J.M. Delisle.

Cmdr R.J. Watt will be promoted Capt(N) and will proceed to the Advanced Training List at the Canadian Forces Language School in Gatineau.

LCol B.M. Wellwood will be promoted Col and appointed Canadian Task Force Commander Democratic Republic of Congo, in Africa, replacing Col acting while so employed K.J. Mcloughlin.
