Acting Chief of the Defence Staff LGen Eyre announces 2021 senior appointments and key positions of Chief Petty Officers 1st Class and Chief Warrant Officers

Acting Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant-General (LGen) Eyre, announced the 2021 senior appointments and key positions of Chief Petty Officers 1st Class (CPO 1)/ Chief Warrant Officers (CWO) that have, or will take place.

He noted it was his privilege to make this announcement, “I offer my heartfelt congratulations and sincerest best wishes to those taking on new appointments and responsibilities. As these CPO 1 and CWO move on to new senior appointments or key positions, I thank them for a job well done.”

He also thanked those who are retiring for their service.

CWO James Smith will be replacing CWO Hartnell as the new Canadian Army Sergeant Major (CA SM). CWO James Smith will be the most senior of the CWO appointments in the Canadian Army (CA).

The following CPO 1 and CWO are appointed to a Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) in 2021:

CWO G.L.C. Grant will be appointed Command CWO Canadian Special Operations Forces Command in Ottawa, replacing CWO J.A. Bonvie.

CWO W.J. Hall will be appointed Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Command CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO J.R.D Gaudreault.

CWO J.Y.E. Poissant was appointed Command CWO Canadian Joint Operations Command (CJOC) in Ottawa, replacing CPO 1 G.A. Gregoire.

CWO J.M. Smith will be appointed CA SM in Ottawa, replacing CWO S. Hartnell.

CWO James Smith will be replacing CWO Hartnell as the new Canadian Army Sergeant Major (CA SM). CWO James Smith will be the most senior of the CWO appointments in the Canadian Army (CA). CWO Hartnell will be retiring.

The following CPO 1 and CWO are appointed to a Post Tactical Leadership Team (PTLT) in 2021:

CWO L.M.L. Alain will be appointed Royal Military College (RMC) CWO in Kingston, replacing CPO 1 J.R.M. Pivin.

CWO J.C.L. Aman will be appointed 1st Canadian Division Sergeant Major in Kingston, replacing CWO R.J. Beaudry.

CWO T.M. Appel will be appointed 38 Canadian Brigade Group Sergeant Major in Winnipeg, replacing CWO R.M. Morris.

CWO F.H. Atyeo will be appointed 32 Canadian Brigade Group Sergeant Major in Toronto, replacing CWO D.C. Turnbull.

CWO L.M.S. Bachand will be appointed 35 Canadian Brigade Group Sergeant Major in Quebec, replacing CWO J.G.D. Pelletier.

CWO W.J. Bantock will be appointed 3rd Canadian Division Sergeant Major in Edmonton, replacing CWO R. Kiens.

CWO M. Beaumier will be appointed 3 Wing Bagotville Wing CWO, in Saguenay, replacing CWO J.P. Turcotte.

CWO J.M.C. Bedard will be appointed Director General Military Personnel CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO J.N.E Saint-Pierre.

CWO D.A. Campbell will be appointed 1 Canadian Air Division CWO in Winnipeg, replacing CWO J.C. Parent.

CWO P.P. Chartrand will be appointed 3rd Canadian Division Support Group Sergeant Major in Edmonton, replacing CWO M.A. Von Kalben.

CWO R.R. Coltart will be appointed Canadian Forces Recruiting Group CWO, in Borden, replacing CWO J.L.S. Parent.

CWO D.J.A. Cormier was appointed Canadian Material Support Group CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO V.L. Gibson.

CWO M.A. Corriveau will be appointed Command Senior Enlisted Leader NATO School CWO in Oberammergau.

CWO W.S. Crabb will be appointed 5th Canadian Division Reserve Sergeant Major in Halifax, replacing CWO M.D. Egan.

CWO J.S. Daigle will be appointed Canadian Combat Support Brigade Sergeant Major in Kingston, replacing CWO W.E. Lundrigan.

CPO 1 J.G.M. Doutre was appointed Assistant Deputy Minister Material Chief Petty Officer, in Ottawa replacing CWO M.P. Bizier.

CWO M.D. Egan will be appointed Canadian Army Rangers Directorate CWO in Ottawa.

CWO D.B. Farr will be appointed 19 Wing Comox Wing CWO, in Comox, replacing CWO K.D. Colcy.

CWO M.P. Forest was appointed 2nd Canadian Division Sergeant Major in Montreal, replacing CWO J.Y.E. Poissant.

CWO J.D. Flamand will be appointed 2 Wing Bagotville Wing CWO in Saguenay, replacing CWO R.K. Sullivan.

CWO S.N. Forward will be appointed Directorate of Anti-Racism CWO in Ottawa.

CPO 1 J.P. Haas will be appointed Fleet Chief Petty Officer-Atlantic in Halifax, replacing CPO 1 D.L. Burd.

CWO M.H. Hawthorn will be appointed 5th Canadian Division Support Group Sergeant Major in Gagetown, replacing CWO C.P. Kane.

CWO J.A.T. Hefferman will be appointed 37 Canadian Brigade Group Sergeant Major in Moncton, replacing CWO R.P. Parker.

CWO J.R.D. Lapointe will be appointed Task Force El Gorah MFO CWO, Op Calumet, replacing CWO W.J. Bantock.

CWO J.G. Leamon was appointed 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group Sergeant Major in Petawawa, replacing CWO M.P. Forest.

CPO 1 A.D. Lee will be appointed Fleet Chief Petty Officer Pacific, in Esquimalt, replacing CPO 1 S.J. Jaquemot.

CWO J.P. Turcotte will be appointed ADM(IM) CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO R.G.C. McCann.

CWO D.C. Turnbull will be appointed 4th Canadian Division Reserve Sergeant Major in Toronto, replacing CWO A. Wilkins.

CWO T.K. Verner will be appointed Canadian Army Doctrine and Training Centre Sergeant Major in Kingston, replacing CWO T.R.S.G. Garand.

CWO M.A. Von Kalben will be appointed 5th Canadian Division Sergeant Major in Halifax, replacing CWO J.M. Smith.

CWO S.R. Wilson will be appointed Chief of Force Development CWO in Ottawa, replacing CPO 1 S.J. Ryan.

CWO T. Wolaniuk will be appointed Joint Task Force North CWO, in Yellowknife, replacing CWO S.N. Forward.

CPO 1 D.J. Bisal will be appointed Sea Training Pacific Coxswain in Esquimalt, replacing CPO 1 A.D. Lee.

CPO 1 E.G. Burns will be appointed Fleet Maintenance Facility Cape Scott Chief Petty Officer in Halifax, replacing CPO 1 D.E. Dejong.

CPO 1 R.R. Deproy will be appointed Assistant Judge Advocate General (Pacific) Liaison Chief Petty Officer in Esquimalt, replacing CPO 1 d. Bisal.

CWO T.L.S. Graham will be appointed Chaplain General CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO R. Hains.

CWO W.L. King will be appointed Canadian Defence Academy CWO in Kingston, replacing CWO J.S. Daigle.

CWO W.J. Kuseler will be appointed the Assistant Prairie Region Judge Advocate General CWO in Winnipeg, replacing CWO M.P. Taylor.

CWO F.G.J. Lavoie was appointed Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School CWO in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, replacing CWO A. Oligny.

CPO 1 N.T. Leavitt will be appointed Naval Logistics Combat Service Support Chief Petty Officer in Ottawa, replacing CPO 1 B.J. Eady.

CPO 1 C.P. McGuire will be appointed Canadian Submarine Force Chief Petty Officer in Esquimalt, replacing CPO 1 A.S. Moulton.

CWO D.F. McNeil will be appointed Assistant Judge Advocate General Gagetown, in Gagetown, replacing CWO Y.J.S. Savard.

CWO D. Milligan was appointed Director General Material System and Supply Chain CWO in Ottawa.

CPO 1 J.D. Oake will be appointed Course Director NCO Programs in Oberammergau, replacing CWO M.A. Corriveau.

CPO 1 P.A. Parent will be appointed Director Navy Personnel and Training Chief Petty Officer in Ottawa, replacing CPO 1 R.R. Deproy.

CPO 1 M.A. Quillan will be appointed Director General Maritime Equipment Program Management in Ottawa, replacing CPO 1 J.G.M. Doutre.

CPO 1 J.G. Rouillard will be appointed Assistant Judge Advocate General (Quebec) Liaison Chief Petty Officer replacing CPO 1 C. Belanger.

CPO 1 L.J. Smith will be appointed Assistant Judge Advocate General (Atlantic) Liaison Chief Petty Officer in Halifax, replacing CPO 1 L.R. Pyke.

CWO J. St Laurent will be appointed Logistics Branch CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO P. Dufour.
